Course description
This course covers various Mathematical concepts taught in the CAPS curriculum. The course is aligned with the CAPS curriculum and will discuss the concepts taught in Grade 4 throughout the year. It will provide an explanation of each concept, followed by practical examples. Difficult Math concepts are taught using the scaffolding approach. This provides learners with step-by-step instructions so that the learner will grasp each concept before continuing onto the next one. It is very important to lay a good foundation in Mathematics.
Course aim
This course is aimed at enriching your child’s learning experience and develop a solid foundation of Mathematics. Each lesson is visually stimulating and provides a thorough explanation of the concepts, followed by practical examples. Your child will engage with the learning material on more than one level and will enjoy mastering these concepts one lesson at a time. Our online content can also serve as intervention lessons for learners requiring additional assistance.

- Whole numbers (3-digits) – count, order, compare and represent whole numbers.
- Value, place value and expanded notation
- Rounding off to nearest 10, 100 and 1000
- Time
- Number sentences
- Addition and subtraction with 3-digit numbers
- Number patterns – Term 1
- Multiplication (1-digit with 1-digit AND 2-digit with 1-digit)
- Multiplication – Term 2 (2-digit with 2-digit).
- Number patterns (Term 2): Flow diagrams and tables
- Geometric patterns
- 2D shapes
- Symmetry
- Common fractions: Compare and order fractions, equivalent fractions, adding and subtracting fractions.
